CITY boss Sven-Goran Eriksson was looking on the bright side after his side took
a point at Premier League basement club Derby County.
"We were much better than we were on Sunday and I was satisfied with the effort
and application," said Eriksson.
"But if I compare what I saw last Sunday, when the attitude was not 100 per cent
right and we didn't fight or help each other, I can't complain.
"We created enough chances to have won the game, but taking them has been our problem
all season."
Eriksson was delighted at the form shown by youngster Daniel Sturridge, who scored
for the second game on the trot.
"Daniel Sturridge again showed what a good prospect he is," he added.
"I maybe could have left him on for a little longer, but I am wary that he is still
searching for full fitness after being out for so long with his hip injury.
"I felt we defended well too and I think Jihai Sun was unlucky to concede the own
goal.
"Miller's shot was probably going 10 yards wide before it struck him.
"Hopefully we can keep playing like this and score more goals. With better skill
from our side we would have scored more goals but we are working on it on and off
the pitch.
"It may feel at the moment as though we are standing still, but we are still right
in the race to qualify for Europe next season."
